In these unprecedented times, we are experiencing:

  • Operational challenges from COVID-19 due to segregated shifts, social distancing, suspect and actual exposure quarantine, sick days, and leaving work force. These challenges have also impacted our suppliers’ businesses resulting in disruptions to raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods.
  • Carrier capacity constraints continue due to pent up demand after the pandemic lockdowns and the loss of smaller carriers going out of business.
  • Additional disruptions include hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico, wildfires on the West Coast, the GF-6 transition, and internal system updates.

In response, we are preparing to return to normal operations and capacity, which will result in inventories returning to normal levels and increased load slots while maintaining safeguards to ensure the safety of our employees and customers.

We are working closely with suppliers to improve their performance and our logistics provider to navigate this tight freight market by utilizing spot, adding carriers and replacing non-performing primary lane carriers.

Finally, we continue to invest in infrastructure, technology, and capability projects that will improve capacity and flexibility. Please stress to your customers that we know these are difficult times and they have our commitment to resolve these order fulfillment issues. We request their continued cooperation to order responsibly and maintain inventory levels that will avoid or minimize interruptions.
