As a longtime Chevron customer, the mine was already using high performance Chevron lubricants, including Rando<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> HDZ, Delo<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> XLE and Meropa<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> EP, to protect its equipment from the extreme environment. Because of its remote location, equipment breakdown can cost the mine hundreds of thousands of dollars due to the time required to get new parts delivered.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chevronlubricants.com\/content\/dam\/newsletters\/images\/Case-Study-03-2022.jpg\" width=\"450\" style=\"margin-bottom: 10px\" alt=\" \" \/><\/div>\n<p>In light of this issue, the mine&#8217;s reliability and maintenance team was tasked with two goals: increase uptime and achieve a three-year life for critical grinding mill gearboxes. Asked to help, a team of Chevron lubrication experts traveled to the mine and performed a thorough Best-In-Class Site Assessment. The visit confirmed the mine was performing well in many areas, but the assessment also revealed areas where the mine could improve its maintenance and lubrication program to achieve its uptime goal. <\/p>\n<p><strong>The solution focused on lubricant cleanliness and a switch to Chevron ISOCLEAN<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Certified Lubricants.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With Chevron\u2019s assistance, the mine completed numerous improvements, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Product Selection<\/li>\n<li>Product Integrity<\/li>\n<li>Lubrication Program Management to Establish Lubricant Cleanliness Targets<\/li>\n<li>Optimized Lubrication<\/li>\n<li>Inventory Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Less than a year after implementing Chevron\u2019s Site Assessment recommendations, the mine is already achieving increased uptime and profitability.
