Chevron’s new Starplex® EP2 M3 is now ready to order in bulk from our Port Arthur Lubricants Plant (PALP). The other bulk grease orders out of PALP are Starplex EP2, Multifak® EP2 and Ultra-Duty HD2.
If you have customers planning to purchase bulk grease, it is imperative their order requirements are made known to Chevron’s supply chain team so the volume can be added to our system forecasts. If you are a Chevron BC with customers who order grease in bulk, please work with them to understand their needs before ordering. In addition, please let them know that 45,000 pounds is the bulk load limit.
It’s also important that customers use clean trailers when they load their order so that the product does not get contaminated before leaving the plant. The best practice is for customers to use a dedicated trailer that is clean upon arrival so it only needs to be clean the first time the product is loaded. The same grease can then be loaded into the carrier on return trips without fear of contamination.
Starplex EP2 M3 features 3% moly, which is sought after by many OEMs in off-road applications. They feature better corrosion resistance, wear control, and shock loading than our basic Starplex EP products.
