Chevron Lubricants is excited to announce the latest addition to the HDAX® product portfolio – HDAX 9500 SAE 40 Stationary Gas Engine Oil for landfill gas, biogas, digester gas and sour gas applications. Testing results demonstrate improved performance of Chevron HDAX 9500 SAE 40 compared to HDAX 6500 SAE 40.
HDAX 9500 SAE 40 is a premium performance, dispersant/detergent-type extended drain gas engine oil. The combination of good base number retention and oxidation/nitration resistance helps HDAX 9500 deliver extended drain capability, even in applications where the oil feed rate is kept deliberately low, placing extra stresses on the lubricant. The dispersant/detergent system is formulated to help prevent sludge formation on cylinder liners, which could interfere with oil flow and lead to higher oil consumption.
HDAX 9500 is recommended for:
- Four-stroke engines fueled by landfill gas containing elevated levels of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s) and/or siloxane
- Sour gas applications where corrosive wear is a special concern
We anticipate HDAX 9500 (product code: 262426) being available in bulk and drums beginning in December 2022.
Please help your customers transition from HDAX 6500 LFG Gas Engine Oil SAE 40 (product code: 262326) to HDAX 9500 SAE 40 starting in early 2023. HDAX 6500 LFG SAE 40 will be available while supplies lasts.
In addition, we have put together a product launch deck and a separate educational deck that includes operational considerations of the natural gas engine segment. The goal of the second deck is to provide ancillary information to help in the sales process of natural gas engine and reciprocating compressor frame opportunities.
